We were there for paczki on Fat Tuesday and they were almost sold out by 1:30 pm... so the product is great and the prices are excellent, but get there early! They also had some cool flavors of Polish jam that you rarely see in the USA, like gooseberry and chokecherry. They also have a stall at the South Bend Farmers Market.
Parking and building only accommodate a handful of customers at a time, but the baked goods are worth any wait. A family business run by the same familiar faces for years and years friendly, no nonsense, consistent. And while they're great year round, they are especially appreciated during paczki season working round the clock and extending hours to produce enough for everyone to celebrate.
Legit Polish bakery in a legit Polish part of time (a lot of the road names around here end in 'ski ' lol). Place is very small kind of a hole in the wall but I wasn 't here for ambiance, I was here to get baked goods!! Bought a variety of products from here, including naturally paczkis for Fat Tuesday. All the baked goods were slightly less sweet than offerings from most bakeries, which was rather delightful. The paczkis are nothing like the donuts you get from other bakeries and stores that are mislabeled as paczkis; the dough is heavy and dense and not overly sweet. All in all, liked everything we got, and would definitely go back. Just wish the hours weren 't so limited!
A little out of the way, a little hard to find and limited hours, but absolutely worth it when you get there. There are numerous authentic creations. The staff is friendly and genuine. Be prepared to spend more than you thought since it is difficult to limit your choices!
I love this place! Been going there since elementary school! Their Pineapple donuts are absolutely amazing! Actually, everything is absolutely amazing! I can't wait until the open back up! Please hurry!
