We could only order pizza, which was supposed to be a combination of sausage and pepperoni. However, it had very little sausage and no flavor. The bathroom was disgusting, with no paper towels and a broken air dryer. The back parking lot was terrible, smelling like garbage and littered with beer cans and glass bottles. This place needs to be demolished.
The best pizza in South Bend can be found at this restaurant! It's the perfect spot to visit after a Notre Dame football game.
I used to frequent this Bruno's location in college, and I was always satisfied with their food for 24 years. However, my recent visit last Friday night was disappointing. I should have been wary when I saw the empty parking lot on a football Friday. Upon entering, I noticed they had a different menu, offering only pizza and a few basic appetizers like garlic bread. To my disappointment, they no longer had a liquor license, meaning we couldn't order beer. The pizza was decent, similar to other Bruno's locations I've tried before. The service was incredibly slow. I recommend calling ahead to ensure they have resolved any issues before visiting.
We caught them at a bad time. The ownership of the business was changing so they had no liquor license so we had to BYOB. We had no idea in advance. They had only pizza to offer. I felt sorry for the waitstaff as they were doing their best in a bad situation. The best thing is that we had fun and the pizza was great. We will try it again but will make sure they are functioning as a full service restaurant before we go!
This is the location of Bruno I always visited when I was in college and I was never disappointed in 24 years and indeed would have said that this was better than other locations until yesterday Friday night. I should have known that something was wrong when I arrived at a football Friday and the parking lot was practically empty. I came in and found a menu other than that I was used to. It had only pizza and a few basic appetizers (usually variations of garlic bread). When we wanted to order beer, we learned that they had changed owners and had no more alcohol license. The pizza was fine. It reminded me of the quality I had received from some other Bruno's sites. Okay, but not especially. The service was awfully slow. I'd say they figure out if they worked out the kink before they go.
