I visited the restaurant to buy lobster and soda, spending around 10-15 minutes there. Unfortunately, I was completely ignored by all three staff members, including a man who was busy adding more lobsters to the tanks. Eventually, I realized there was no one else around to assist me. I would rate the customer service a disappointing zero stars.
South Bristol Fishermen's Coop is as simple as it gets: excellent, fresh lobster at affordable prices with no frills. While the lobster and clams are outstanding, it's important to note that this experience may not appeal to everyone. Dining on picnic tables at a working dock might not suit all tastes, but it's as authentic and delicious as you can find. We recommend checking their hours, as they close relatively early. We also discovered that our visit coincided with the last day they would be cooking lobsters for the season. The staff was friendly, and the facilities were clean. We were able to choose our own lobsters and steamers, which they cooked for us. They provided lobster crackers and a roll of paper towels. We brought our own wine and glasses, and if we return, we'll definitely bring lobster picks. Additionally, it might be wise to pack some handy wipes. South Bristol Fishermen's Wharf is a real gem that shouldn’t be missed.
If you're in search of fresh Maine seafood, this place is unbeatable. The best option is to purchase live seafood and prepare it yourself at home, but dining in is also a good choice.
Super nice people. Call ahead if possible. Can eat there outside or take out. Interesting to watch the boats and fishermen working.
