The quality of the food can vary from year to year, sometimes reaching as low as a 2-star experience, while other times it can be a happy surprise and reach 4-stars. Generally, it is a standard curry house that gets the job done, but lacks a bit of flair. If you are looking for a satisfying chicken tikka masala, you'll probably be pleased. However, if you prefer more unique or upscale dishes, you may be disappointed. That being said, when the food is good, it is really great!
The British Raj is known for its Bangladeshi cuisine, including a variety of curries and Thawa dishes. In addition to the traditional Indian dishes, they offer over 20 types of curries categorized by meat type or vegetarian options. While the service may be a bit slow, the delicious food is worth the wait. They also have a lunch special for £6.95, and offer a 20% discount for takeout orders. Additionally, they host Thawa evenings twice a week.
