Boss Hog Barbecue - South Plainfield

I was feeling hungry and decided to grab a quick bite at Boss Hog Barbecue. They have a very wide selection of meats to chose from such as brisket, pulled pork, ribs, even some chicken options. I went in ordering ribs and the pulled chicken. To start with the ribs I was very nervous once I saw the Memphis style written next the ribs. I was curious because Memphis style ribs IN New Jersey??? When I bit into the rib oh my god it was like tasting Heaven. They were juicy, meaty, and extremely tasteful. Next up was the pulled chicken. After talking with the owner Mark he told me the pulled chicken consists of shredded chicken breast I was very interested to see how it tasted. And it did not disappoint the chicken was nice and juicy I even tried it with all the sauces. Personally I love how it tasted with the pineapple habanero sauce but even without sauce the pulled chicken was great. Overall this barbecue joint is a 10/10 and can 't wait to go back to try some more.

We stopped in after my daughter?s tournament and thank God we did. We ordered a rack of ribs, Mac Cheese with cornbread. The ribs are sooo good! There?s a variety of sauces too which are also amazing! It?s not too big inside but you can definitely eat in. Great people and great food.

This hidden gem deserves a 10 star review! Catered a party for 20 adults and everyone raved about the food. Ribs, brisket and pulled pork were tender and delicious! And wonderful cheesy mac and cheese, southern green beans and tasty, yummy cornbread! Plus enough leftovers for next days lunches. I would recommend everyone try this place!

Sam and James are the best for smoking delicious ribs and brisket. Delicious and fresh, sauces are soo good too ????love the cornbread and baked beans. So nice to have a good BBQ place in our area ????

Introduced to their great BBQ when they had an event at Ashton Brewing in Middlesex a few months ago and knew I had to stop by their restaurant. This past Saturday picked up a brisket ribs combo w/baked beans and green beans to enjoy with some beer flights at Flounder Brewing in Hillsborough. Enjoyed some of the most tender and flavorful BBQ. Wishing them (and the breweries) much continued success!
