The Barrington Boar - South Somerset

Really very special cooking. This was my second visit and I was even more impressed with the food. The friendly professional service in this comfortable relaxed countryside pub restaurant is really worth a visit. The bedrooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. Looking forward to returning again and enjoying the surrounding countryside.

Modernised traditional Somerset pub in attractive village. Open and light bar area with wide choice of gin and a varied and well chosen wine list including by the glass. Odd there is no draught cider. Excellent service and superb food. Really liked the smoked fish roe sharer starter with sour dough crackers. Rooms at the back were warm and snug with neutral decor. Good bed. Powerful shower and local shower wash. Coffee pod machine and tea/ coffee available .

The Boar is a favourite of ours and the food today was fantastic as usual. Warm, welcoming, friendly staff and cuisine above and beyond in look and flavour.

Yet another wonderful meal brought family and they were over the moon the food was just amazing and the staff fantastic . Thank you for making our visit wonderful

How lovely to dine somewhere which feels so comfortable, the service is lovely, and the food really terrific. All helped by a log fire to give that sense of cosiness on a dark winter’s evenings. Marvellous place in a peaceful Somerset village.
