Absolutely delightful cafe, from the inside decor and the outside garden, to the friendly, clearly passionate lady (presumably Rosie Chai) who works there, to the food that's served. The interior will tell you of the passion that the owner has for tea. On the menu are eighteen different types of tea, so perhaps view this as a tea-house that serves food. The menu is a little limiting for vegan diners, but the four or five choices there are all look delicious. The falafel wrap that I had was excellent, and great value at £6. Certainly the best place I'm aware of to get a vegan/vegetarian lunch in Twickenham.
The good: the owner was friendly it had a scenic café the feeling. or ashamed chic they are clearly passionate about the speciality tees and there are many of them quite a varied menu and it is unusual that there is a Lebanese caffe is the vegan breakfast was nice (living-yet with medium-ost seasoning) the evil soy milk was out, and she obviously had a because sitting there; the (friendly, well-known) owner said he was not sure so he tasted it before, but when he said it was not sure how it should taste! there were two microwaves that dominated the rear area and were in constant use. there was no confidence that eating was made fresh.
I went to this little single café for the first time yesterday and loved it from the first moment. the owners are super friendly and responsive. they answered all my asking, e.g. the oil they use to cook, and were extremely flexible with the food. I have a vegetarian dish that made them a vegan. the food was delicious and looked really nice. they feel the care that the owners bring to this place. would give 5 stars if I could (but can not, because there is no meat free caffe.) I am sure back.
The place looks nice and cozy, but eating is not good. falafel packaging was ok, but the spinach filled baked were old and dry. the fruitcake was the one I regret most: must have been there for months and was completely dry. no vegan cake is available anyway.
