We went during labor day weekend for dinner and it was half empty, not a good sign as the good restaurants were impossible to get into! Food was OK, not worth the money and entrees took forever to come out. Overall, it was OK, nice to try but would not go back.
Unfortunately, food was very disappointing. Bouillabaisse nothing like traditional, although they said it was a traditional recipe. Textures were weird. Heirloom tomato salad tasted like regular tomatoes. Other dishes were considered lackluster by all, and at these prices, kind of an outrage.
The menu was quite limited, and many items were unavailable. When we ordered coffee at the end of the evening, the waiter informed us that they only had decaf, as they were out of regular coffee. The manager didn’t seem concerned and was too busy watching football on his phone to apologize. Southampton would be better off if this place went out of business.
We are staying in their Inn all weekend so naturally wanted to check out the Restaurant. It could not be more cozy and unpretentious. We had an outdoor seat Saturday evening with a live musician playing in the patio. The drinks are incredible but their food is really on point. We had a caviar and crab appetizer which was one of the best dishes we ever had. Entree was a juicy duck and was equally delicious. It is a nice break from all the stuffy and expensive places around. I would highly recommend.
Ambiance just lovely, new restaurant which still needs some tweaking. However, t food with its unusual combinations supersede t inept service.
