The flavors in everything from the soup to the side of peas was well thought out and complimented each other perfectly. The service was incredible as well. I will definitely be coming back! This is a friendly quaint French Bistro that is like the French version of 80's comedy show Cheers where everyone knows the staff/owner. The Bistro is also welcoming to newcomers like my wife and I and we felt like regular patrons by the end of the night. Searching for a French restaurant in western neighborhood was not easy and finding a cozy place with good French food was even harder. It beats the traffic going into Boston. My wife raved about the escargot and I loved the pate. The fresh froi gras which Jay specially made (not on the menu) was amazing. We had the special sea bass and wild boar shank and both were very tasty. An added bonus is that this is a BYOB so you can bring your personal favorite wine.
Every dish was delish. It's obvious that care is taken in conceiving and executing the menu. We bought a wonderful wine that paired well with the soup, country pate, entrees, and cheeses. The service was special. What a great find! We'll be back on purpose. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
As always, the food, service and atmosphere was perfect. There is absolutely no place like Metro Bistrot. On this occasion, our party of 3 enjoyed the chefs table which is for those who are not pickey about food. Jay prepares a 7 course tasting dinner...you never know what you will be served before hand, which makes it adventurous. We always bring a variety of really good wines , as it's a BYOB restaurant, and Jay suggests which will go best with the course he is preparing. I highly suggest this venture for special date nights. It's special
The food is fabulous ! I had wild boar shank, “thats right”, and my date had swordfish fresh from Chatham, Ma. Stephanie was a wonderful waitress. We also had the honor of meeting the owner and head chef, Jay. One thing that I was displeased with was the cork fee. We brought 2 twist off bottles of French wine, as the restaurant is byob. We were kindly given 2glasses . We were charged $10 for a cork fee. In my opinion due to the high end prices of the meals, this added fee was a little disappointing. No complaints what so ever for the price of our great meals. We definitely will return and bite the bullet !
