Mccoys - Southend-on-Sea

Best chip shop in the area. Food is fresh and delicious, owners so lovely and polite. Never had bad food here yet and recommend McCoy's to anyone. Prices are very good too. From scampi cod and sausage for the dogs,lol x x

Have just had cod and chips for lunch. This Fish batter is light and so tasty. Portions are large. This is probably the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. Will definitely be going back for more.(not today though very full up .

Had a large Cod and chips last night, Fish was cooked fresh had to wait a while which was fine but when I got home and put my large fish and chips on a plate, the large Cod that cosy almost £6 was (going by other chip shop standards) was small/medium and the chips were enough to feed the street! Everything was hot and cooked well they just need to sort out their portion control as I felt that I was ripped off. I didn't like the last owner he was a wannabe gangster who knew everyone's business and a slime ball so I avoided the place.

This business is under new ownership. Feel sorry for them. Despite notices on doors people taking no notice of the 1 person in shop instructions. Last week chips were only lukewarm, this week they were hot and tons of them but could have done with cooking a little longer. Fish was nice

Awful chips with soggy fish batter and a pie that had pastry made of concrete. Couldn't even put the massive left overs out for wildlife as that would be cruelty to animals. Ended up cooking anyway.
