Whilst taking a walk around priory park and feeling a little chilly we popped into the cafe for a nice hot cup of coffee and obviously a cake or 2 . Great little cafe open all year very good selection of hot cold food and plenty of drinks choice . Very good service
This place is fairly small, about 20 seats, hot food available, basic sausage and chips sort of menu, ice creams too. Pricing is a bit high as I suppose the owners know that people have to either like or lump it!
They've done a good job on the inside. The tea and hot cross bun was good. Will definitely be going back :
We visited the Priory park cafe with some friends, on the 23rd December, for the Carols in the Park Christmas event. The park was busy and the cafe coped well with the amount of people it had to serve. Having being recently refurbished, it felt modern, airy, light and very comfortable with a cosy and pleasant atmosphere with many families getting their teas, coffees and food.We had prime seats at the counter, by the window, where you could see and hear the Christmas Carols. To start off, we had some sweet Korean tea which was deliciously fragrant and then ordered a variety of Korean food, having being told they excelled in this speciality. The spicy chicken was divine (probably my favourite), crisp and very tasty. The dumplings were delicious and the beef Bibimbap, (a Korean dish of rice, beef strips, vegetables, a fried egg, kimchi and some chilli sauce), was fabulous! To finish, we had the Korean pancake, served with honey and whipped cream (for those with a very sweet tooth). All in all, a very positive and pleasant surprise. This affordable wonderful family run cafe has got, apart from the cafe/snack bar everyday menu, the best Korean food in Southend!! We will be back sometime soon for some more Korean culinary delights. Highly recommended!
