Tourist trap (ofcourse) ok for a drink but wouldn't recommend eating here

Classic 'tourist ' pub that doesn 't give a **** about customers. Had two halves of Guinness but the third tasted a bit off. Went back to change it...

The location is great, and it’s lovely to be in a “ye olde” pub with lots of nooks and crannies and low ceilings. We had a reservation and when we walked in, there was no obvious hostess station for us to be shown to our table. Eventually a staff member saw us and took us there. There were a few people at our table who had clearly been drinking there for several hours, and it took them a while to move themselves. The person who seated us failed to tell us there was no table service and where to order (there was no info on the table about this at all). Eventually my husband went to try and ask someone and was told to order and pay at the bar. This is fine, but why wouldn’t we be told this when we were seated? Food was fine. Would likely not return.
