It appears that the restaurant is permanently closed. From what I know, the owners of the Sled Haus in Lead are currently remodeling the space to open a new restaurant called Berlin Spearfish, which may be launching soon.

This place is a classic for pizza in the Black Hills. I've been savoring their expertly made pies for many years, and it's always a reliable choice.

I visited this restaurant based on its rating on a Travel site. A few things to note for visitors is that it is cash only. However they do have an ATM available inside that has a fee. I have no doubt that the ingredients are fresh and the sour dough is delicious. However I was expecting more for the amount of toppings on the pizza. It was pretty small. The flavors were wonderful just not enough topping portions to truly appreciate. Prepare to wait about 25 minutes as it is made to order. I wasn't prepared for that either. I decided to sit on the patio as the weather this time of year is quite nice. But that didn't last too long because of the flies which in all fairness seems to be a thing in the area. No mosquitos but geesh the flies. The hostess was delightful and everyone was very friendly. For the price...I felt a little disappointed. They were giving away fresh whole lemons which I forgot to grab!
