I expected the restaurant to be a little upscale because of reviews I've read, but it was very plain, except for the beautiful expensive art for sale on the walls. The table we were seated at had the top varnish peeling away. Looked terrible, but I didn't ask to move. No biggie. The service was excellent. She was very nice and attentive, answering my questions about the menu. I ordered the French Dip, and it was absolutely delicious. I was surprised it came on toasted bread. I definitely recommend this sandwich. The aju was perfect, not too salty. My side salad was fresh and served with a dill ranch and shaved parmesan. Great salad. My daughter loved her cheese burger and cross cut fries. We will definitely be back. Parking: The small parking lot was completely full, although the restaurant was basically empty. I assume with employees cars. Expect to need to park on the street, if you come for dinner or when it's even a little busy. Kid-friendliness: Kid approved!
First time here. My husband and I enjoyed a nice dinner. He had the Aji tuna and I had a grilled portobello mushroom burger. Both were really good. We came here on accident. Actually, I didn't realize this restaurant was here as I got the name mixed up with another restaurant. We enjoyed dinner. Hardly anyone was there, which was really nice. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Easy free parking. It looked like they had outdoor seating, but we sat inside. The only reason I take away one star on atmosphere is I dislike bench seats that are along a wall, where you share it with the next table. Since it wasn't crowded no other people were sitting on the bench seat, so that worked out well. Vegetarian options: The portabella mushroom burger was fabulous. Parking: Parking lot adjacent to restaurant. No stairs to climb.
Downriver Grill has been on my list of must try brunch spots for quite some time so I stopped in after a hike one Sunday morning. It wasn't very busy and I was extremely pleased with my breakfast. The eggs benedict was delicious, although I think I enjoyed the potatoes more! So unique and a totally yummy cheese factor. Also the Mimosa was very tasty! Service at the bar was great and I would definitely come back to try more from the menu.
This was just the best place to eat. The food and service was spectacular.
Food is great. Only complaint is that you’re up charged for too much. Server asked if we wanted blue cheese fries, instead of just fries, we said yes. How they do it is they give you a soup-cup full of blue cheese dressing, not sure who would ever eat that much blue cheese dressing and want to pay 6.50 for it when all they really need to do is sprinkle on some crumbles of Gorgonzola on top of the fries and add a couple bucks to your bill. No need to treat it like a cup of soup, it’s an excessive amount to add to some fries and an excessive charge. Also 3.50 for bread? Most restaurants do serve a small amount of bread while you have your drink and wait for dinner. Fried chicken sandwich was good, atmosphere is nice but relaxed too. Oh and they told us it’d be a 30 min wait, it was 50..
