Hickory Inn - Springfield

We used to eat here when we dated in high school and always got whole wheat crust pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni and cottage cheese on top. Back then they put dollops on. This time the whole pizza was covered with cottage cheese. That made it too soggy. It was not as we remembered. My French onion soup was good though. Wheelchair accessibility: No room in the ladies room for my walker, so a wheelchair wouldn't fit either. Awesome dinner with my parents. Starting with a great house salad, perfectly cooked ribeye steak, garlic mash potatoes. The portions were big. My parent loved their fish too. This is now my favorite place in Springfield to have a steak dinner. Loved the atmosphere inside! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Wonderful to have visited an establishment that opened in 1947! A bit tight inside on busy nights, and a hoodie or light sweater is a good idea to bring, as it was quite chilly inside. Service was great, very friendly staff. Pizza was exactly what I was told by local family it would be. Super fresh, very good, plenty of toppings and a really large size.
