On every weekend you will find freinds and all peoples and visitors there in the park as that is close to dal lake and also there we could enjoy a cool breeze of dal lake. I too enjoy here when i come to this point i feel like i am flying i come here whenever i am in kashmir. .all friends of mine come and chill out at this place its near nehru park just opposite to the bay of dal lake. The Zabarwan mountain range possesses great Himalayan features with rich wildlife. The Dachigam National Park, spread over 141 km2, is the main feature of the range. The Dachigam National Park holds the last viable population of Kashmir stag (Hangul) and the largest population of black bear in Asia. The range is also home to musk deer, leopard, Himalayan brown bear, leopard cat, jungle cat, red fox, jackal, Himalayan wolf, serow, Himalayan yellow-throated marten, long-tailed marmot, Indian porcupine, Himalayan mouse-hare, langur and Himalayan weasel The climate of the Zabarwans can be summed up from the climate of Dachigam. It is a sub-Mediterranean type, with two spells of dryness from April to June and September to November. The range has irregular weather conditions with a considerable variation in the amount of precipitation. Snow is the main source of precipitation, and in some parts melts till June. The annual minimum and maximum rainfall of the Zabarwans ranges between 32 mm to 546 mm. SThe crystalline axis of the Himalayan system contains the oldest rocks, and in the northern flank of this crystalline axis are found fossiliferous sediments of marine origin. The Zabarwan Range has crystalline rocks such as granite, schists and phyllites with embedded lime stone, which form the core of its parent range.
Good place to spend time with family specially on Sunday with live music performance, entry ticket price a bit high where one has to pay additional for activities inside
This was a great place from here you can get a ticket to a bouble decker bus which will give you a tour of 1 hr of the whole of the Daal Lake
The balloon is tethered, tied to the ground and doesn't ever leave the park, don't be misled. A great park to hangout, I highly recommend you visit it atleast once as it offers public conveniences, paid parking, 7D theatre, open air theatre, food courts etc. There's also a photo gallery which gives you a glimpse of ancient kashmir. Try the segway(iRide) rides (not sure if they still do these) and also the Hot air balloon ride (Aero balloon), the balloon goes up less than 100 feet (not 200 feet as some say) which still gives you a birds eye view of dal lake. Prices vary but it's usually ₹600-800 per person . Entry fee is ₹25 Music festivals are held there sometimes, kids will love this park. Have a good one!
The hot air balloon is said to have the capacity to hold four people besides the captain, ensuring a breathtaking view of the Zabarwan Mountains and Dal Lake in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar.
