Right when you walk in there is an aroma of baked sweet potatoes. It's a good tactic because this is a nostalgic smell from many Koreans. They sell them in small paper bags in a warmer so it's the perfect snack on the drive home. We got one and noticed they used the really small ones which are the perfect snack size. The prices on their fresh produce were quite reasonable and similar to the large Chinese grocery stores. There were a few things that were more specific to Korean cuisine but all the staples for shoppers of any nationality. They have a good selection of rice and I got a 20kg bag of white short grain for $34.99 on sale. The ready to eat food selection was quite good. Many different street food items, packaged hot meals, a bakery, and a large dining room. The store was quite busy on a Sunday afternoon but the lines at the till were moving at a good pace and everyone was wearing masks and keeping their distance. Free parking and a convenient location makes this a must shop location.
While shopping I took an iPhone camera shot of an item I had an interest in getting and planned on coming back to get at a later date. Instead I was harassed by a staff member being accused as a spy for T and T supermarket next door. I complained to their upper management about this, I was given a mug as an apology, sure I accepted the gift for their apology but am still not coming back. Oh guess what I will go to T and T supermarket instead.
The pork bone soup is delicious. Probably best I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot of korean food. Portion sizes are generous and the taste is perfect. Ordered through skip the dishes and it was packaged in a bowl that was ready to eat from immediately. Nothing spilled and it was still hot when I got it. I’m so impressed !!!
I got delivery from here recently. In terms of food, I tried their Short Rib Soup, Pork Rib Soup (Gam Ja Tang), and Seafood and Soft Tofu Stew. Both the Short Rib Soup and Pork Rib Soup were quite average the former was not as rich as expected and the latter had quite a bit of meat and substance, but was a bit overwhelming with the flavour balance. The Seafood and Soft Tofu Soup was quite nice as it had good amount of seafood/tofu, a good balance of content and soup, and it had strong but good spiciness to it that is uncommon for this dish compared to most other places I’ve seen in Edmonton
