Best bao I’ve ever had! We got cabbage/pork and three delicacies. Both very good Strong recommend!
Got told by someone to give it a try, so here I am a bit disappointed. I'm not sure if we just ordered the wrong food or something else, but I just don't get the hype. The beef noodles is too bland, and the noodles are soggy. I tried too many beef noodles, but this is positively not the best. Their dumplings look sad, but tastes a bit better than it looks. Service is so so, but the lady boss seems arrogant, or maybe just tired. Price is a tad bit too high for the value of food and service we got.
Got there pretty early for a Saturday ~11am but already a majority of the bun flavours were sold out and they weren’t planning on making more for the day. The flavor I did get was the dill one which honestly was pretty good though not my preferred. So very juicy! So much so that it leaked in the takeout box and when you take a bite. The bun was subtlety sweet with a nice bounce. Service: Take out
A few people recommended me to try out Yan's Family Restaurant for their authentic Chinese Buns (Baozi) and I've been a regular ever since. This is the best Chinese bun restaurant in Edmonton, especially considering the value. Their pork+scallion buns stood out the most: portion, flavour, juiciness of the filling/meat and meat to bread ratio. Note that there is usually minimal service. Overall, I'd give them 8.8/10
