Back 40 A1a - St. Augustine

My fiancée found Back 40 on Google we decided to try it. This place is definitely a hidden gem a MUST when you are in the region of St. Augustine! Everything was absolutely wonderful. Our service was great, the food was amazingly delicious. We had the salsa, chips, beer cheese appetizer it was so delicious fresh that we bought extra to take home. We had the chimichurri steak taco The Mahi-mahi wrap with sweet potato waffle fries them both top notch! 10/10 we have definitely added this to our favorite list as soon as you try it, you will also.

This restaurant could easily get higher reviews of seniors like me. The staff is attentive and pleasant, the food is good, and the general ambience is beautiful. BUT old people usually eat less than other adults, and under restaurant gardeners we are more likely to have a fixed income that is not as high as others. We like businesses that are agreed. The thoughtful offer a senior choice with reduced portions and prices, some simply a flat discount. If not, it doesn't matter if we order from the choice of the child. NOT Back 40 A1A!!! Although you do not see it online when you get the menu on your table, you will see in LARGE LETTERS that if an adult is ordered from the choice of the child, you will be charged an additional $3. You will no longer eat for this charge, and never forget that you order an alcoholic beverage at prices that we all know will usually inflate more than food prices. You're just being punished for being a dirty one. Take a kiss from your more nurturing competitors. Or, kindness doesn't even have to be reasonable.

Great little restaurant! Service was excellent! I had the 1/2 pound burger with the side of the island of Schwieger! Burger was cooked to perfection and toppings were plentiful! Will be visited again?

Ordered take off as it was near the closing time. Fast, tasty and very satisfied with everything we ordered. The conch fritters were great! Maybe another diving sauce instead of Ranch would make it even better. Jerk Chicken was great and the chocolate mouse cake was also delicious. I would recommend this place;

Sometimes the food is great, sometimes it's awful. There's no consistency aside from the contemptuous attitude of a certain server who has been there for way too long. I've been going here regularly for years and am under the strong impression that the owners are not that great to work for. Especially now that there is a sign on the door complaining about limited workforce... essentially blaming anybody but themselves for their poor service and unreliable quality. Plenty of restaurants here are doing just fine. PAY your staff better and hire a REAL manager to run your business. Any time I see the owners there they are just slowing things down and getting in everybody's way. Wake up!
