The Gym Sports And Grill

I had an hour to spare in Bury and really wanted to watch the French Open tennis. I found this place on Google and decided to go in for lunch. I asked the guy behind the bar if they could put the tennis on, which they did without any problem. I had a pint of Backs and ordered the whitebait starter as a snack. It was delicious, served with chunky bread and butter, and a nicely presented side salad with Balsamic vinegar dressing. The decor may not be the most modern, but the friendly welcome, great service, and good value will definitely bring me back soon. Thank you for the hospitality and showing the tennis!

I travel frequently for work and dine out across the UK often. I rarely use TripAdvisor and usually only leave positive feedback, but this experience was so terrible that I feel compelled to share. My colleagues and I were looking for a casual place to enjoy some drinks and affordable food, so we didn't have high expectations. However, what we encountered was a complete disaster. The bar staff seemed more interested in their phones than serving customers. They were rude when we tried to get their attention, as they were too busy flirting with each other or other patrons. The only decent thing was the food, but it was hard to appreciate it when the floors, tables, and chairs were sticky and filthy. If we weren't so tired and unfamiliar with the area, we would have gone elsewhere. The most unpleasant part was the tall, bearded bartender who served us. He was polite and efficient with our orders, but unfortunately, his personal hygiene was severely lacking. The odor coming from him was noticeable to all of us, and it really put us off. We debated whether to say something to him, but another customer overheard us and mentioned that we were not the only ones who had noticed. It's a shame because he may have some bartending skills, but if he doesn't take care of his hygiene, it's all for naught. I believe he may be a supervisor, with piercings in his ear and nose. This experience was so disappointing that I felt compelled to write this review.

I went to this restaurant with a friend and was immediately struck by the loud noise. The beer selection was lacking, and my first beer was so bad it smelled like vinegar. The second one wasn't much better. The floor was incredibly sticky, and the bathrooms were filthy with doors that were all bashed in, no soap, and no hope of cleanliness. I will not be returning as this is the dirtiest place I have ever been to.

A friendly atmosphere that is fun; even if you're not in to sports hugely. Great people make this a nice place with everything you need past visits have included delicious food!

Went in to Mk dons smash Man U not only did I watch history on the pitch but had the best Burger I have ever had. Try it you won't be disappointed.
