Golden Phoenix Restaurant - St. John's

Don't waste your money on dinner here on Sunday night. The food is just average and definitely not worth the $32.99 price. I won't be coming back.

I went to this restaurant for lunch today and it was a mistake. We tried the lunch buffet and the food tasted old. Many dishes were cold, even though we were there right at the opening at 12 o'clock. The chicken balls, wontons, and egg rolls were burnt and seemed like they were leftovers from the previous day that were refried. The price was $22.99 per person, which was expensive considering the low quality of food and limited selection. I recommend staying far away for the sake of your stomach. We will not be returning.

Went for lunch and there were two other couples. None ate the food served as it tasted old and dried out. Noticed two other tables with plates of uneaten food on them. These tables were not cleared for the whole time we were there. Did...not see the waiter after he delivered the food

Ordered a single dish because I didn’t feel I could get the value out of the all-you-can-eat option, although it’s nice that it’s offered. Anyway, got about 1/4 of the way into my meal and came across a long strand of jagged metal. I sent...the food back. I was offered another meal but declined because I didn’t want to risk it. Hopefully I didn’t swallow any of the metal. They said it was likely steel from a scrubbing pad used to clean the wok. I paid for my date’s half of meal and left no tip.

Ordered Delivery for Cantonese noodles and an order of Pineapple Sweet Sour pork...only the Cantonese noodles showed up! Ordered through a third party app, so I had to request a refund through them (even though it was not their fault....I know this because the...order guest check was stapled to the bag that was delivered and it had my pork dish listed) I would have rated them as “poor” but the Cantonese dish was decent.
