India Gate Restaurant - St. John's

We had the lamb biryani and butter chicken. if they are looking for the most authentic Indian restaurant in the city, this is the place to be!

I have eaten here beforehand and really enjoyed eating. we ate there recently and the lamb vindaloo was good, but a very small part. the curry meal was hot with very overboiled mushy vegetables. the small court of rice costs $8. for this. three things and faucet cost us $73. totally ridiculous. the personal appeared very entertaining and unhappy. it seemed much more waiter, but I assume that not enough kitchen staff due to the quality of eating and the reduced staff shortage menu. they were only servier shop bought naan brot too. To be honest, I won't come back and I love Indian food.

Probably the best restaurant in st johns. it is family run, friendly and served the best India food I had. dining room has pleasant atmosphere

I'd be shocked if you could order something from the menu that wasn't fantastic. we order the takeover from here all couple months or so and it is always good every time. the employee on the phone (I appreciate the owner) was very nice and...helpfully the tandori chicken is a must, like the garlauch naan. we look forward to our next meal!

We ordered twice from this restaurant. Once was Friday night again take out as we had just arrived and did not want to go out. We ordered the food around 5.30pm we were told it will take 3 HOURS for delivery. We had no idea...it will take that long. However, when the food came around 8.45pm we all rushed to eat found the food very very hot. Did not realize it would be that hot. Any one who is ordering this food please make sure to order mild or medium. The second time we ordered agin sadly the order got messed up on 1 item, we did managed to talk to the owner who was apologetic and said he will refund the money, but we did not take the refund. When you order be very specific about what you order as they can mess things up and you will see it only when you get home and open the items. what the menu says and what you get can be different as that's what happened to us!!
