The elderly lady working there was extremely rude and aggressive towards us when we brought a sausage roll in for the kids, even though we had also ordered coffee and scones for the adults and milkshakes for the kids. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
This cafe had the worst food and customer service I have ever experienced. Our meals took an hour to come out, even though the cafe was not busy. The staff did not apologize for the long wait and my sandwich was dry when it finally arrived. When I asked for a refund, a staff member swore at me in an aggressively disrespectful manner. My friend's burger had mushy, low-quality meat. I would not recommend this cafe to anyone, not even my worst enemy.
Lorenza's Coffee Lounge has been around for a while but a) the shop is not really a lounge as you expect it. Just a bit cramped shop turned in to a coffee shop. b) The coffee is OK but it seems that rent kills a good coffee because after all, the owner has to sell x number of coffees to pay for rent; staff; and other overheads and .. to make a profit as well. This, in the end determines how good the coffee is going to be. In this place it is better to take the coffee away and drink it on one of the many main street benches and enjoy local life going past. Reasonable coffee for the price paid. PS WHY DO WE HAVE TO ASK FOR HOT COFFEE? Coffee should be hot when served!
We couldn't find an kitchen open to serve us at 2:30 pm in a highly touristic place like Stanthorpe, in the middle of a long weekend (this town is dead considering the quantity of tourists in the area). Lorenza's (now Rustic Café) owner reopened hers. With a smile, despite the fact that she looked tired from the long working day. We felt blessed. And we were hungry! We had had scones and coffee early in the morning; so we're not judging it only based on kindness. Food was good, scones were good, coffee fantastic. 4 1/2 stars + 1/2 star for special satisfaction.
I visited the now "rustic" cafe on a cold and windy day, hoping for a warming soup. On entry I looked for a menu and was matter-of-factly told it was written on the board behind me. I ordered nachos (there was no soup) and an iced coffee. The nachos were just an oily bolognese sauce, on bland cheap tortilla chips, with a blob of avocado hidden by a blob of sour cream. The whole thing was SMOTHERED in cheese. The iced coffee was made on coffee essence , and was the most horrible watery tasting concoction. The lady serving was very unhelpful and unfriendly. A very dissapointing experience. There are other much nicer places in Stanthorpe to dine.
