They offer a full menu and a buffet, providing a wide variety of local cuisine. We decided b to try the buffet and also ordered a glass of Prosecco. Started with a cheese, onion and tomato omelette, with a side of sausage and bacon. Five stars! The omelette was cooked perfectly, and very lite. A great hidden gem in a small German city.
Other than the yellow jackets swarming our table, which were plaguing the restaurants all over Germany, this was the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely weekend breakfast. Situated right on Staufen's central plaza next to the town hall, be sure and sit outside where you can savor your buffet breakfast while people watching. (Don't miss Saturday market! The buffet choices are typical for Germany...cold cuts, cheese, rolls, eggs, fruit...not heavy on the sweets. (There are plenty of non-buffet baked goods for purchase. My caramel latte was LECKER...not too strong, not too sweet. Service was quietly functional. Despite the annoyance of the yellow jackets, I must say it was fascinating to watch them carve out massive pieces of our meat and fly off trembling with excitement and sheer exhaustion.
