For over 20 years we have been visiting the Probst restaurant. The location on the hill above Grunern offers a fantastic view of the village of Staufen and the castle, which from the Sweden in the middle of the 17. The century was destroyed. They offer their own wine, but this Straussi has gone very commercially on a very large scale. There must be hundreds of tables. Tour buses keep and overwhelm the place, which means service suffers. The food is traditional, typical and definitely not from its own farm anymore. The prices are at the very high end of what one would expect to pay at any other Straussi, from which there are hundreds in the region, for foods that are nothing special.
