Whiskey River Bbq - Steiner Ranch

This place is horrible, nothing like TX BBQ. Hands down the worst bbq I've ever ate in my life.. The Service is horrible and owner was very disrespectful to my 11 yr old son..

We were given a certificate as a gift. Had been there years ago and hadn't been impressed so we didn't go back but with this gift we went again. First let me say I understand things being older and needing updates but this place is really pretty grimy. a big overfilled nasty ashtray outside on the table as you walk up was #1 strike. Was taken to a table that was sticky with a sticky menu. the glass wall was smeared with hand prints plus other stuff dried on it and the wall was very dusty strike #2. The very friendly waitress had no idea what Texas ribs were and didn't offer to ask Ok my drink was supposed to be water but was not water not sure exactly what is was maybe sprite mixed water or something like that I hope) sent it back. We ordered a combo with pulled chicken sausage brisket and pulled pork plus and a rib dinner with baked potato. Now this is what worried me most the ribs were horrible. Texas is dry rub but the taste was OLD. No other way to describe it. Tender and fell off the bone but dry and almost grainy it was horrid. the baked potato was so brown inside I knew it had been either baked early that day or most likely a previous day and re heated. It was again OLD tasting. The chicken was OK the brisket was the best but still not great. the sausage dried out but the pulled pork was so bad I told my husband not to eat it. IT was freezer burned tasting and OLD tasting. I have never been so turned off by a meal out. We paid with still having $20 left in the gift certificate but will never use it. My brother informed he he had never heard of anyone EATING there only grabbing a beer. Needless to say I will give him the $20 to have a beer on me because I am troubled by the fact a BBQ place has such bad BBQ. I hate to give a bad review if it is a TASTE issue by meaning I did't care for the sauce or the coating was cornmeal and I prefer battered But this was actually Bad. So sorry and I don't mean to bash them it was simply poor quality

We did. We decided to try them based on their win at a bbq cook off and were sorely disappointed. We had heard great things about their tenderloin and just to suffice it to say we didn't finish our meal. The meat hadn't been cooked long enough and the breading was still doughy. The table tops were sticky and the waitress was surly, quite obvious she wasn't happy being there. I'll stop at the BP the next time I'm hungry and in the area. Glad others had better experiences as I try to support the locals but won't be back.

I'm pleased to have some new food in the area. We called it in and picked up in 5 minutes. Impressive!

This place is awesome. Great food and unbeatable prices! Great wings and BBQ sandwiches!
