I inquired about the charge, and was told that it was for the service of the water, not the water itself. I found this policy to be unreasonable and frustrating, as I believe the customer should have the choice to tip for good service rather than be charged for it. I may have overlooked a mention of a service charge on the menu, but I was disappointed by this unexpected fee. I had read a previous review mentioning a charge for hot water, which I can understand, but I did not expect to be charged for regular tap water. Unfortunately, this experience has left me hesitant to return to this restaurant in the future.
This is the first time we had been to this cafe and we will definitely be back. I'm coeliac and the menu is clearly marked for vegans, vegetarians and GF. I had the most delicious 3 egg omelette with hand cut chips. I picked red onion, chicken, chorizo and peppers. Has to be the best omelette I have had in any restaurant. Seasoning was perfect and the herbs in it were so good. My wife had the lentil and vegetable soup with sourdough bread which she said was beautiful. Our friend had a 2 egg omelette and hand cut chips. We had coffee which was really nice. The staff were so attentive and friendly. The place is spotless and we went downstairs where there are lovely leather sofas. The prices are very reasonable compared to other cafes in the area. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.
The staff at Choices Deli are always cheerful and give a warm welcome every time you visit. I have been living in the Dunblane area for several years now and the customer service at Choices Deli has always been consistently excellent.
I met up with a friend at Choices for coffee. We were told that we had to sit in the windowsill seats since we were not buying food. If my friend hadn't already ordered our drinks before I arrived, I would have left because the cafe was not busy and the seating was uncomfortable. When I asked for more hot water at the counter, a rather grumpy lady told her younger colleague to see to my request. When I paid the bill, I noticed a surcharge for the water. When I questioned this, I was told rather rudely that I had to pay for water in the cafe. We often go out for coffee in Dunblane and I have never experienced such rudeness. There are plenty of other nearby cafes where the staff are pleasant, so we definitely won't be returning to Choices.
A firm weekend favourite with us, whether dropping by for breakfast after a morning walk with the dog, or just a coffee or a hot chocolate. Always a friendly welcome and plenty of variety and fresh food. A great variety of freshly made dishes on a menu with most dietary preference looked after. We love the cooked to order omelettes with a little spring onion, or the fabulous croque monsieur for a Saturday breakfast. Or a perfect bacon roll. There is more than one reason we come back every week: great food great service lovely to see young people enjoying their first job always a warm welcome for my little sprocker, even when she’s been playing in the river Highly recommend
