Two Magpies Bakery - Suffolk Coastal

I have visited Two Magpies multiple times and have always found it to be welcoming. However, on this particular visit, it seems to have lost its charm. The staff appeared disinterested and we had to wait a long time before our order was taken. One meal arrived promptly but the other took much longer, to the point where I had finished my meal before my husband's even arrived. It is disappointing, as we have always been impressed by this chain of cafes.

I visited this restaurant a few times during my short stay nearby. The service was excellent, and when my first latte wasn't hot enough, they replaced it without hesitation. The second latte was perfect, and I ended up having a third one as well as a delicious lemon slice. The lemon slice was incredibly tasty, but had a sharp, tangy flavor with actual lemon peel that may not appeal to everyone (my adult daughter didn't enjoy it). Despite this, there is a wide variety of cakes and pastries to choose from, so there's something for everyone. I highly recommend this place for great coffee and delicious cakes and pastries.

On a rainy day, we were excited to enjoy a delicious cake at this restaurant, but unfortunately, it was not pram-friendly. It seemed like no effort was made to accommodate my family and me, possibly because of the pram. We felt quite uncomfortable, even though there was at least one option available. We left feeling unwelcome as customers. However, we did have a better experience at their other location in Darsham, despite them being short-staffed. It seems like they may be more selective in Aldeburgh about who they choose to serve.

Nice atmosphere and lovely staff as always. Will be back for food soon. The breakfasts are awesome.

We had very high expectations and saved our visit to the last day. Looks very appealing and the service was prompt and pleasant. I felt that in an attempt to be “posh” some basics were over looked. Streaky bacon needs to be crispy and sausages with tough skins, the eggs were clearly free range but presentation was poor. My biggest complaint was the toilet honestly it was 0930 and it was filthy. Needs a re-decoration and at very least cleaned regularly by someone who knows how. Sorry guys fell short in our opinion.
