Mon Cafe - Sumter

The food here is consistently outstanding! I usually go for the steak bowl and California rolls, and they never disappoint. I also want to extend my gratitude to the restaurant after my DoorDash driver, who I nicknamed Ole Dusty Abigail, stole my order. I got a refund and reordered, and I really appreciated the California rolls you included! That kind gesture made us loyal customers for life. Thank you all once again! If you haven't tried this place yet, you definitely should—it’s worth it! We've also dined in, and the experience was just as great!

This restaurant is situated off Broad St. in Sumter, right in the same plaza as Firehouse Subs and Ultra Tan. It opens at 11 a.m. and features a diverse selection of Japanese cuisine, including sushi. I tried the California Roll, and while the portion sizes were fair for the price, I thought the food itself was just average. The dining area is spacious, and the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the place are commendable.

I hadn't visited Mon Cafe in quite a while. The food is still excellent, but the prices are noticeably higher than I remembered. Paying $17 for a Teriyaki chicken bowl, two spring rolls, and a drink is more than I'm willing to spend on a lunch anytime soon.

I ordered the steak bowl along with a drink, and it was absolutely delicious. I added just a touch of the ginger sauce to enhance the flavor. I couldn't finish it all, so I enjoyed the leftovers for lunch the next day.

The food is of great quality and reasonably priced. The staff is polite and friendly. We’ve never had to wait more than 15 minutes for our order, even during busy times. We dine here often and take advantage of the loyalty program!
