Celebrating their 20th anniversary this May 2024, it's clear why Sunbury Crab Co. is loved by the locals and visitors alike. Counting down the days until my next visit!
The experience was unfortunate. We had a food item we sent back (which I 've truly never done before) and the server stated her manager wouldn 't let her remove it (which we weren 't told and paid before we noticed it). We then asked to speak to the manager. He came to the table and it became an argument. He stated why I shouldn 't have sent it back, how I was wrong, stated I ate more of it then I did (I had one wing) and after staying calm and remaining kind, he finally agreed to see what he could do. He did take them off the check, but after a lot of back-and-forth. I 've been in the industry for over 12 years. From serving, cooking, and now upper management. I understand guests can be difficult and you can 't please everyone. This, why ive never sent food back anywhere. But, when I am in my restaurant if my guests aren 't enjoying their experience I make sure they do. Now, that doesn 't mean bend over backwards because many people take advantage, but this was not that case. The wings were very chewy and stretchy elastic like skin and very dry inside. All of that to say, the argument, back story, and defensiveness was too much and tacky. We were going to go to the bar for a drink after our meal and decided to just go back to our Airbnb, knowing that there is no other restaurant in the area at all. But, that didn 't matter because we did not want to be there any longer. Wont return and don 't recommend it.
The worse greetings, host son with his negativity is unbearable. We left to spend our money else where. Call mom now… mumbling boi, say it with your chest or don’t speak up at all. Second note; being out on boat all day I was hungry have not heard good things about this place and thought well I should try my self. Aha never again. EVER! Presentation is everything and having that kinda staff I see why they loose money. By the way the dock is a MASSIVE hazard rusty and falling apart accident waiting to happen. Y’all should invest back into that…
Make sure you make a reservation or you may be out of luck! We were very fortunate to get the best view in the house after finding this wonderful hidden gem! Jade C. took excellent care of us! The food is hot and fresh, the vibes are cool, the location is outstanding, and the service is five star! Thank you to all the employees of this waterfront restaurant we appreciate you!!
Where do i start with this restaurant. We walk in on a sunday around 3 pm, and they are not walk-in in friendly. If you dont have a reservation, dont bother coming here. There is no wait list at all they will just turn you away. We had the tuna app and wings and fried fish tacos for dinner. Wings were recommended by the server, btw when asked. We get the tuna, and i kid you not. it 's just tuna slabs on a plate with soy wasabi and ginger. Tuna is okay. Next, the entrees the fried fish tacos were great with a nice horseradish kick, and the fries were great. The wings, on the other hand, were so dry im happy i ordered my 1$ tap water, and yes, they do charge for tap water, so be aware. I wouldn 't ask for ice cause I 'd probably be charged another dollar on top. I 've never sent back wings in my life, let alone a dish at a restaurant. So we eat one wing and send them back. Also, dont bother doing 2 different flavors for the wings cause they won 't do it anyways
