The Spanish music is great every Sunday! happy hour is always happy!
I give it a 3.5. The bookstore and cafe environment is really great. I love the vibe. The food was just okay. I ordered the poached eggs with linseed toast and mushrooms. My husband ordered the smoked salmon omelette with beetroot relish and goat cheese. Taste quality was good but it could have been warmer and fresher all around.
Ordered eggs benedict. Arrived on a timely basis but truly dreadful. Sauce out of a jar, toast rather than English muffin as described on the menu and poached eggs made in a mould - I could make better at home. With so many great cafes nearby seriously need to lift their game.
This is my go to place for a quiet snack of cake and tea. On the upstairs long table I can perch with a view over Oxford Street. It is a lil tired but that's the charm. Old leather, chipped wood, ancient floors and walls. Lived in = fit in comfortable. There is a third level as well. Get lost in your thoughts, dream up your world, spend all you have whiling away time in this iconic book shop.
