One of our four restaurant stop last night was a hot item. Not so much of its taste but of its default presentation- all on a sizzling plate. There were a barrage of options presented to us. Like I wanted to pick the Omelette with beef. We wanted to pick more but our stomachs can only take so much. So we ended up with just 2 for the 2 of us. We got their best selling Pork Steak and Father's Day promo of Beer Braised Chicken. The first was typical. It was good that it was lean and without much fat. It was bad that the gravy had an overpowering butter in it. The second was bitter. The charcoal paired with beer marinated chicken wasn't exactly the best combination. Good thing this was only Php 140. alwayshungry.ph
I'm not much of a fan of sizzling dishes, but I've enjoyed this restaurant's sizzling pork steak (I being a pork-chop lover). Aside from having some of the cheapest prices at the Food on Four, Sizzling Plate's dishes likewise have big servings. As such, one shouldn't expect that the steaks are comparable to the premium beef parts imported from Australia. Suffice it to know (and taste) that this store sells a variety of sizzling meat at reasonable and affordable prices.
My husband had a decent page of sisig with rice here for only P150. The food was nicely presented on the counter so you could see exactly what you'd be getting, which was helpful and a good selling point.
"Becoming a vegetarian is a missed steak." Catchy saying, but does it produce a sizzling finish? Sizzling Plate is one of the several food chains to grace the Food on Four food court of SM Aura Premier. Compared to the other stalls here, they offer what their name speaks of, meals in sizzling plates. From Filipino classics like Lechon Sisig, Pork Liempo and Tapsilog, crossing over to American steak cuts like Porterhouse & T-Bone, this place offers also offers seafood selections like Squid and Tuna, all on sizzling plates. Today's sizzles: 1) Sizzling Porterhouse - I got this at Medium Well. It was 200 grams of chewy, locally grown steak that I'm probably not ordering again from here. The steak knife they provided couldn't even comprehend to the meat served. I had to use a little more extra effort to cut through some part of it, even the marbleized parts. The vegetables were also a tad bit bland. Not even buttered or at least added some flavor. Had I not requested for Worcestershire sauce on the side, I would have been eating freshly cut vegetables (not that I don't like that, it just doesn't compliment steak the way it should). 2) Grilled Tuna Steak - my girlfriend ordered this and it was a pretty ordinary dish. Nothing that'll make you go gaga over this stall. I'm concerned that they even decided to put a lemon on top of the steak, which was so useless because it was so small, you couldn't even use it after tequila shots. Too Much Sizzle? If you're searching for more sizzle and quality in your food, sorry, this place is not recommended. The stall beside it has more "sizzling pepper" appeal. But, if you're: on a budget, up to just fill your bellies, caught by the aroma of the steaks cooking and the picture presentations, then you're one of those who also made a "missed steak." Cheers.
