The chef, Carmine from Italy, gave us high expectations for authenticity, and we were not disappointed. Even my 5 year old enjoyed the aglio olio, capricciosa pizza with homemade Italian sausage, and bruschetta. Just as good as we had heard!
Eating at Chef Carmine's restaurant is always a gastronomic delight. We have been enthusiastic fans of his cooking since 2011 when Monet Lacson recommended it to us. Whenever we are in town, we always make sure to visit his restaurant. Two thumbs up!
We were excited to dine at this restaurant, as it is owned by a real Italian chef. However, we were disappointed to find that the food was not up to par with other local Italian restaurants. The pasta pomodoro and amatriciana were decent, but lacked fresh ingredients. The octopus salad contained stale squid and the scaloppine tasted like it was made with canned mushroom soup. The meal was also one of the most expensive we've had in Bacolod, yet the service was lacking. Overall, we feel that the Italian owner may not be a professional cook and is only there for appearances.
Word of mouth got us to try this small and simple joint near the District at Bacolod.Owned by Chef Carmine from Italy one could surmise already its authenticity. And it didn't disappoint at all... says even my 5y.o. :)We had the aglio olio, capricciosa pizza with homemade Italian sausage, and a bruschetta.Just .Must try #wheninBacolod.
