Despite a dance show taking place in the room the night before, preventing us from dressing the room ourselves, we were able to drop off our decorations, cake, and cold buffet to be refrigerated. I shared my ideas with Pikling, the owner, and she beautifully decorated the room and set up the buffet the next morning exactly as I had envisioned. Leading up to our event, Pikling was excellent at keeping communication open and ensuring smooth logistics. On the day of the party, she went above and beyond for us. The hot buffet items were delicious as well. The upstairs room is spacious, with a sizeable bar, a stage, and a dance floor area where we had a medium-sized bouncy castle and soft play for the kids. My only complaint is that the bar only accepts cash and there is no wifi, but I was able to inform my guests beforehand so it was not a major inconvenience.
I went to a party in the upstairs function room. Helpful, kind, friendly and quick service from staff. Big room and good flow in the set up of tables.
Such a shame the only Chinese restaurant in stalybridge has closed for functions only. Been going here over 10 years and never had a bad meal. Always good and fresh. My favourite was always spicy crispy beef
Most of the food was really good but one dish (special fried rice) the meat was really chewy... all of it.. I just mentioned to the staff when clearing the table to be spoke back to like a child in the headmasters office.. her words were, we tried the meat and it wasn't chewy, pork is and fried so ment to be chewy,I replied the chicken was chewy too.. she replied I'm not having that.. u ate some so she'd only charge half price for it... I'm not sure how I knew it was chewy unless I tried to eat some of it,but I didn't want to argue.. bill was over £110 but unfortunately because of the attitude we wouldn't return... we werent awkward, we expressed how nice the other food was but that one dish really wasnt edible but her attitude is why we wouldn't return
It is unfortunate that the only Chinese restaurant in Stalybridge has closed for private functions only. I have been dining here for over a decade and have never had a disappointing meal. The dishes are consistently delicious and made with fresh ingredients. My go-to dish was always the spicy crispy beef.
