The staff member who answered the phone could not have been more friendly and helpful! When we arrived the next day we were greeted by a very pleasant cafe with indoor and outdoor seating options. The rear of the property has a very comfortable and relaxing alfresco area with more protected seating out front. We had no trouble finding a table and settled in for a long lazy brunch. Two Mountains offers an all day breakfast selection and seperate brunch and lunch menus. Both have a good range of options including veg, vegan, sweet and more hearty fare. The service is walk up to order and coffees and food are delivered to your table. The staff mirrored the great service I experienced on the phone the previous day and were super friendly and helpful. We ordered coffees to start and the Toby’s Estate beans were skilfully turned into delicious cups of coffee which went down a treat! We ordered from the brunch menu. I chose the Dukkah Scrambled Eggs. These were cooked perfectly with a creamy texture and Arabic spice that played well off the subtle egg flavour. The cheese that was added was your basic cheddar which I thought was slightly out of place; maybe a Persian feta would have complimented the theme of the dish better, still, it was delicious! My dining partners ordered the Open Rye and the Vegetarian brekky. The Open Rye consisted of a poached egg, salmon, tomato salsa and capers on rye bread. This dish was presented beautifully and tasted just as good. The poached egg cooked perfectly and the capers and tomato salsa adding some dynamic flavours. The vegetarian brekky had a great selection of treats able to satisfy even a meat eaters brunch hunger. Another well prepared runny poached egg with sautéed mushrooms, avocado, corn fritter, tomato salsa, wilted spinach and two slices of rye. This was a very satisfying meal. Overall our dining experience was great! Friendly staff, good coffee, well considered food at a reasonable price and very pleasant atmosphere have Two Mountains earning five stars from our group. I will definitely be back to sample some more of their delicious food and maybe try the intriguing “old fashioned coffeetini” I saw on the menu but wasn’t game enough to try .
Good was delicious had the breakfast bruschetta Quick service and cute decor
Truely a hidden gem, beautiful little cafe, food impeccably presented and very tasteful. Chef really knows favour pairings and presents the food superbly. I am not a vegetarian but gravitate towards all the vegetarian and vegan options as they are great healthy options that actually leave you completely satisfied. Even tried the vegan orange poppyseed muffin which was delicious.
Such a nice place to eat, some of the nicest service we have received, very pleasant atmosphere. We ordered the Harissa Scram with bacon and it was delicious and nicely presented, next time we are in Thirroul we will definitely be coming back here.
