The oysters were fresh and tasty, and the filet was perfectly cooked with a great sear. The creme brulee was spot on. The building is 100-plus years old as is the restaurant. It's a little dated but I believe it's what gives The Plaza its charm and atmosphere. I'll go back.
Have been going to the Plaza for many years. Went recently and was very disappointed with the food, food was both cold and completely tasteless/meh for the most part! It seems the overall food quality has gone way down! The only decent thing there is the Greek salad. A family member had the steak a year or so ago and it was very good! But recently we had the meatloaf, which would have been pretty good if they didn’t put Heinz 57 sauce on it! Needs a tomato sauce, not a brown sauce! Also the mashed potatoes and all our food was cold or lukewarm temperature, not hot at all! The Plaza does not know how to cook good vegetables! The mixed house greens (spinach/collards) were not good at all! The sweet potatoe soufflé is very good but a bit too sweet. Won’t plan to return except maybe to get the Greek salad occasionally. Also the atmosphere is very much still stuck in the 1970s! It’s been a great restaurant in Thomasville through the years but they should consider updating the atmosphere to modernize it some!
Went on my first date with a guy and this restaurant was perfect. The food was delicious, atmosphere was just right. I will be back. Oh and the waiters were awesome and made the invite welcoming.
Traditional but very fun, comfortable atmosphere with terrific staff. Excellent food.
