This is not my first time here. However it has been years since last I went here. I recently took my wife and 2 year old here to dinner. It was a Sunday night and the local football game was going on. We expected a packed house. When we arrived, we walked up to the counter and the guy behind the counter asked if we were ordering to go or for dine-in. We said dine-in. The place was mostly empty, to our surprise. We found our booth and waited...and waited...and waited... Finally the lady that was also working the counter came up to get our drink order. Before we could speak, the phone rang and she excused herself to answer it. We learned quickly that this lady was a one-woman army. She seemed to be the only employee that was interacting with customers. She answered all take-out phone orders, a task that seemed to take all her time. She completed all orders for people who came in for take-out. And coordinated with Door-Dash person. All the while the customers physically in the restaurant were neglected. Now there are obviously more employees than just this lady, but they seemed to not be bothered. The guy who greeted us first, whom I guess to be the manager, was there, but did nothing to alleviate the workload this lady was desperately trying to keep up with. My wife and I finally had to take matters into our own hands. We found ourselves silverware and crayons for our daughter. My wife even found paper for her to draw on. 20 minutes later, the lady finally found a lull in all the phone calls and pick-ups to bring us our drinks. Seconds later our food came. The food has always been excellent. That has never changed. After we finished our food, the (manager guy) walked by and I flagged him down for our check. When he returned with our check, I asked him for a to-go box for our uneaten pizza. He looked at me and I swear he said, Let me get your server. I was flabbergasted. He was literally doing nothing, all the while the one-woman army was back on the phone, but he couldn 't be bothered to get me an empty pizza box?! We got out of there as fast as possible. TL:DR. Food great. Need to hire more staff to handle the customers. Manager guy lazy.
We are in Thornton for the weekend our son requested Garlic Knot. It took an extra 20 minutes to be ready and they weren't even busy, not a big deal until you get back to the hotel and have to take a jackhammer to it, getting the pieces apart. The crust was like eating JERKY! There were so many bubbles in the top of the crust that the topping were hard to find. Covid times or not, they could at least try.
DO NOT EAT HERE! Staff do not where masks when preparing food. Ordered food at 5:40 pm at 8 pm my wife went to pick up the pizza since it hadn't been delivered yet. That's when she saw all the staff not wearing masks we cancelled our order.
There’s a small sign on the front door indicating that they are only accepting to-go orders, which might explain why my child and I spent half an hour at one of their outdoor tables waiting in vain for our order to arrive. Eventually, I went inside and got it myself, managing to charm them into giving me a plastic fork. As for the food, it was just okay.
