I ordered Al's Old Chicago Chopped Salad, which featured light, fresh lettuce and was quite delicious. The prices were affordable, the place was clean, and the service was quick. Next time, I'm looking forward to trying Chicago's renowned #1 Italian Beef.
I was in the suburbs feeling really hungry when I happened to drive past this restaurant. I had been to Al's downtown before and was hoping for the same delicious food, and I wasn't disappointed! My meal arrived quickly, the fries were nice and hot, and the beef was just perfect. I almost took it to go, but I'm glad I decided to eat in because a dipped beef sandwich is definitely not the easiest food to eat in the car!
The Italian beef here is truly authentic and many would say it's the original. I've visited several times and have always been pleased with the beef. Be sure to try it dipped and topped with hot or sweet peppers—you won't be disappointed. The fresh-cut fries are also quite tasty!
My son and I absolutely loved our sandwiches! We just got the original Italian beef with provolone and hot pepper. It was amazing and we can’t wait to go back. Excellent customer service!
Beef is really good. The only concern is that the portion git a lot smaller. They got rid of the little al and shrunk the regular. It has been a while since I was there, overall 4 regular beefs with 4 small fries came in just under $50.
