The menu is quite customizable, with a main meal set with rice (on weekends you can choose between rice and bread), soup, salad, pickled veggies and a choice of two out of a list of other sides. We got the main meal set with rice, daikon and onion miso soup, sesame tofu, and potato croquettes, as well as the main meal set with bread, pumpkin soup, tempeh katsu, and grilled veggies with peanut sauce. We both ordered the drink set for 280 yen more and got coffee and rooibos ginger tea. The salad was really fresh and crisp with a delicious dressing! The rest of the meal was really tasty as well and not overly salty as is often the case in Japan. Looking forward to going back soon!
Unfortunately we came to late (arrived around 4pm) for lunch. We had tea, spicy hot chocolate and vegan cake. Delicious and very friendly staff. The menue offers a few vegan dishes/ lunch sets. Would love to come back and try it.
This restaurant is a great place for a traditional Japanese lunch. The location is peaceful and charming, and the food is delicious! We stumbled upon it after visiting Gotokuji temple and were pleasantly surprised. The staff is friendly, but be prepared to do a little translating as the menu is in Japanese and they have limited English. To find it, look for the slightly faded Unkimika sign on the left of the apartment building.
The food at this restaurant is absolutely fantastic and made with fresh ingredients. It may be a bit difficult to locate as it is situated in a residential area with the front door located on the side of the building. However, the dining experience is truly exceptional.
The food is delicious and the service is fantastic. The two women who own and operate the restaurant are lovely.
