We ordered the Omelette (added protein), Pavlova dessert, Turmeric Tea Latte, Pancakes, English Tea, and Catch of the Day which was fried pickerel. Hats off to the chef for the dining experience as well!
Longtime customer... winter 2024 menu is not the best but it's pretty good. Not sure why eggs benny offerings are absent... kind of befuddling considering the Toronto obsession with brunch... Hopefully the spring menu is better! All that said Clay is one of the best dining spaces in the GTA.
The assortment of foods that we chose didn't really tie in with each other. Wonderfully thought up dishes with perhaps. a little too much pepper in the pavlova! The atmosphere is peaceful and walking through the museum is delightful.
The place is so nice and I expected the food to be great because I have been to other restaurants from this group, but was disappointed with my orders. My son's kids pasta was so overcooked that kept breaking into little pieces. I had the chopped salad with chicken and the meat was extremely dry. Looked like rotisserie chicken from days before. The focaccia and steak were also ordered and were fine.
It seems fitting that one of my favourite museums should house one of my favourite restaurants. The food is tasty and imaginative. The service is prompt and thoughtful and it is one of the nicest rooms in the city.
