Pukka - Toronto

We ordered many different dishes to share. Each one of them was different but equally exceptional. Our server was great, friendly and professional. The place is gem!

I called three times previously to confirm and request a corner table in the quiet corner . After these three calls, I was assured of the right table, only to find that they seated us in the corner right next to the serving bar, which was not very quiet or private. That was disappointing. I guess I needed to make a fourth call! Other than that, the food was quite delicious. Waitress was not overly friendly and looked grumpy but we all have bad days, I guess.

A really delicious and inventive take on Indian cuisine, but it’s pricey. That said, the portions are generous and in all likelihood, there will be leftovers to eat the next day! A wonderful place for a celebratory meal.

A dear friend from Vancouver Island came to visit. He wanted to eat some Indian food. So, we took him to Pukka. He loved it, as did we. The service, the room, and the food. And the plates were an added bonus. Thank you for giving him a memorable evening before going home.

Top 10 restaurants in Toronto for me. Boatman’s curry, chaat, short ribs and daal are delicious and the butter chicken is always reliable. Enjoy.
