Joy of India - TORRENSVILLE

We went to Joy of India just to try a different Indian restaurant as we have a couple of favourites that we go to very regularly. The restaurant was very quiet, especially for a Saturday night and we were worried this might be a reflection on the food and/or service. Fortunately we were wrong about that! The menu had some 'old favourites' but also some dishes we have never had before. The service was friendly and the food was truly amazing. The restaurant is 'tucked away' in the Brickworks shopping complex but I highly recommend it and we will certainly be back to work our way through the menu. We had a chat to the owner who was very friendly and happy to tell us about his background and the business. Don't be put off it by the location or the fact that it doesn't seem as busy as some of the other eating places nearby.

Busy day at work, pick up some groceries on way home and while shopping choose some great Indian food as a take away to enjoy when home with a nice wine or beer.

The service is excellent, the food is fresh and tasty. Highly recommend. Met the chef and owner, they take a personal interest in their business making sure you're happy - they treat you as if you're the only customer. Clean and comfortable.

I highly recommend Sam and his amazing dishes. My family used to live in Adelaide but we have since moved to Queensland. We especially love the chicken Tikka at this restaurant. Every dish is a culinary delight. This place is the best of the best. We miss you guys! XXXX ☺️ ????

I have been dining at this restaurant almost weekly since I found it. Despite the not-so-great location, the freshly prepared food, helpful staff, and reasonable prices always bring me back. If you talk to Sam about your preferences, he will recommend several off-menu options that are all made from scratch if you're feeling adventurous. However, sticking to the regular menu has never disappointed me either.
