Donner Creek Brewing - Truckee

The restaurant has a perfect Northern California mountain vibe and is far from the increasingly touristy area of Truckee. They offer delicious and reasonably priced sandwiches, as well as a small but well-selected tap list that includes house-brewed beers. While I hesitate to give a high rating for fear of attracting too many tourists, I hope this place thrives for as long as I can escape Sacramento in this direction. The best Saison I've ever tasted was here. Saisons are risky beers that only companies with money to spare or small outfits driven by passion attempt, as they involve wild yeast and unpredictable outcomes. Supporting a small brewery that takes on this challenge is important to me, and I will always make a point to stop here and support them.

Oh my goodness, I absolutely adore the family and staff at this restaurant. I was just passing through and decided to stop for a bit, and now I never want to leave because they are fantastic. The beers are great and even though the menu is limited to paninis, they are delicious. This place is definitely worth a stop right off the highway.

I visited from Toronto and stopped by to pick up a souvenir beer can with the Donner Party label on it. The staff were friendly and welcoming, even offering me a sample before I left. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to enjoy a beer on site, but I will definitely be returning in the future. Special thanks to Evan and Christina for helping me fulfill my Donner party dreams.

Great selection of beers on tap and in the can! If you like pear ciders give the Hemley pear chai cider a try! It?s absolutely delicious! Menu is small but very tasty! Try the pretzel with cheese. Don?t expect cheese sauce on the side. Expect cheesemelted on top!!! YUM!!! Even better add bacon!

You HAVE TO TRY this place ...5 choices of grilled cheese sandwiches and a lot of beer choices each better then the last. A MUST stop, worth the price . But here is a tip , order at the cash register when busy. The staff is awesome but limited ????
