First off, he didn't tell me that they were out of crab until after I made my order, and he rejected all of my suggestions for a substitute, so I just got double shrimp. Had a taste when I got home and the shrimp tasted completely foul. Inedible. Same for the fish. He told me it was whiting, but I'm not sure I believe that. To be safe, I didn't eat anything. Very disappointed, Will not return.
This not savannah seafood . Y'all making savannah look bad take the name out asap .
I always get seafood from the David's in Savannah, so when they got one here I was super excited. The excitement soon faded once I returned home with my food. First of all, the garlic crabs, conch, and shrimp tastes nothing like the one in Savannah. The garlic crabs tasted like they were boiled in regular water and then sprinkled with seasoning after taking them out. Very bland and not seasoned at all. The conch were EXTREMELY hard. The shrimp were OK but still tasted nothing like the David's in Savannah. The garlic butter was a paste, and the hot sauce tasted old. I was very disappointed and won't be getting David's in Atlanta anymore only Savannah. I expected the recipes to stay the same and they're not.
I was concerned to see the crabs just sitting in a bucket behind the glass counter, and they didn’t feel cold to the touch. They were simply pre-seasoned and not on ice, which raised alarms about cleanliness and food safety. It felt like they were just taking customers' money without any regard for health or quality. I will never return to this place! They actually took the blue crab out of the bucket and microwaved it in the back before serving it to me! To my dismay, the crabs were still cold when I left. I strongly advise against eating here, and I'm grateful that I didn’t end up getting sick. The inside of the restaurant was filthy as well. If I had ordered through DoorDash or Uber Eats and then visited the restaurant, I would have walked right back out the door.
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was not good at all, and the place had an unpleasant, dirty smell. They also overcharge for items—like a tiny side of garlic butter that wasn’t even full, and they charged a dollar for it. It’s ridiculous to be so stingy with portions. The last time I visited, the same sauce was offered in a much larger quantity for only 50 cents. The crabs I ordered tasted old and had very little meat, with an off ammonia flavor, so I had to throw them away. I attempted to give it another try with the garlic shrimp, but unfortunately, I found those to be just as unappetizing.
