Had a mixed experience at Culinary Dropout. When we arrived, the place was packed with many people without reservations trying to get a table and crowding the reception stand. We were about 15 minutes early, so they asked us to wait at the bar while they prepared a table for us. The bar was very busy but had 4-5 bartenders serving drinks and customers. While we did get a glass of water fairly quickly, we then sat for 15 minutes and were ignored by the bartending crew?? This was of course very frustrating so I finally went back to reception and asked to be seated. We did comment on the poor Customer Service at the the bar. And to managements credit, the Bar Manager came over, offered a sincere apology and bought us a round of drinks. A perfect example of how a little management attention can turn around a bad customer experience. The wait staff and service at the table was very good and attentive. This place targets a younger demographic, as the music is loud and on this Sat night, they had a live DJ. Not the place to go if you want to have a conversation across the table or just do not like loud music while dining. Drinks were excellent and the food was good. We would consider coming back, if we were hosting younger relatives who would appreciate the happening ambiance. Hope this review is useful.
This restaurant is a fun and casual spot to enjoy delicious food and unwind.
Our server, Kya, was friendly and energetic, but the food and drink service was very disorganized. We ordered appetizers promptly but had to wait a long time for them to arrive. The same went for our drinks - we ordered them and waited, and waited, until someone other than our server eventually brought them to the table. We even placed our dinner order before the appetizers arrived and still had to wait for a long time. Adding to our frustration, a DJ started playing a loud hip hop set, which was very annoying. Despite our plans to attend The Black Angels concert later, the excessively loud music was unnecessary and uncomfortable. A manager eventually came by to apologize for the slow service, but it did little to improve our experience. Although our server was great, overall our experience was not a positive one. Our friends were embarrassed by the whole ordeal, and it took forever for us to finally leave. We have been to the Culinary Dropout in Phoenix and always had a good experience, but we won't be returning to this location in Tucson.
The staff ensures that your visit is satisfactory and you leave happy.
