Every year, the Polo Grill hosts an event known as the Burning of the Corks.
"I can't believe I never considered having brunch at The Polo Grill before! My husband and I were running errands in Utica Square on a Sunday morning and decided to give it a try."
It was a unique experience. My husband made reservations for my birthday (surprise to me), we arrived at our reservation time only to have to wait 15 minutes for a table. He had told the host when he made the reservation that we would be celebrating my birthday yet nothing was even said. I have to say it was an unusual feeling watching a table across from you being served complimentary birthday champagne and a small desert with a birthday candle. And yet my husband made special arrangements, made sure the staff knew about our celebration and then nothing happened. The food was great but unless you are a regular the staff could care less. I will not be returning.
This I can honestly say is the highest quality restaurant in Tulsa. When I first heard about the polo grill I was on a plane in Seattle reading through brochures when I came across a list of top 10 steakhouses in the US. As I browsed through the list I came upon a very surprising find, one of the steakhouses was in my hometown of Tulsa. For anyone from Tulsa we love for things in our hometown to be talked about outside of Oklahoma. So when I returned to Tulsa I had to try it, and let me tell you it was everything I had hoped for. Unlike many other fine-dining establishments around Tulsa (Mahogany's, Stone Horse, etc.) I actually felt like I was getting something worth the arm and the leg that was being charged for it. That's the thing about it is that it was more than just depending on a fancy facade, high prices, above average service, and good steak like other restaurants I mentioned. It was in a league of its own everything about it was great down to the last detail: the service was phenomenal, the perfect serving sizes, the complimentary courses, but last but not least the most important thing is it challenges you somewhat to push the limits of your pallet but in a familiar environment with all the classics that make you feel comfortable. Now you'll actually have to go and see what I mean.
