Wanda J's Next Generation - Tulsa

Chicken roasted steak is the best in Tulsa! My husband had the grilled pork chops and really likes them. We had mustard green, roasted Okra, sweet potato casserole and roasted cabbage, all sides were perfect. The maize cake was so good and unusual, it was sweet and like a maize cake. The service was fantastic. The seat was limited and the restaurant was impeccable. We will definitely come back!

My partner and I FINALLY tried to live Wanda J’s in downtown Tulsa after a year and let me tell you... That's not true! I had a desire for fried chicken and we decided to try this. I had the 2 pieces roasted chicken breast meal with mustard green and canned yams on the side. I also chose the Hornbrot. Everything had taste and the chicken was perfectly crispy and delicate! The candied Yams were sweet and tasty and the greens brought me back to childhood memories! My partner ordered the special of the day, the beef tips and he loved it! We also have a side of fried Okra. Overall everything was delicious, the service was phenomenal and we loved our experience. We will definitely be back.

Sometimes when you go to a restaurant, it's about more than a meal. Like my experience in the Soul Restaurant Wanda J’s Next Generation. Wand J’s is located in the historic Greenwood District in Tulsa. Of course, this was the place of the Tulsa race massacre a century ago. As you approach the restaurant, there are plaques in the sidewalk that identify countless companies that were destroyed during the massacre. Then come to Wanda J’s. A tiny building with great taste. We tried chicken wings, pig sheds with green beans, pint beans and of course Mac and cheese. They were all delicious. The wings were dusted only with flour, so they were relatively light and not greasy. The green beans had the history taste of pork make them tasty, but probably not as lo cal as you might think. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the feeling of history.

The food was pretty good I decided to treat for my birthday

The food here is really good. I had the fried chicken, fried orca, buttered corn, cornbread and peach cobbler. The food is priced well and the staff was very friendly and thoughtful. As a tourist I’ll be back :
