The food and the staff are both great. It's also a good place to go to see live music. The outdoor stage is awesome! I only wish that they had a bigger variety of music to suit more tastes. Throw in a bit of rock and roll every now and then please!
My sister and I went for a second time last Saturday and enjoyed it as much as the first a month earlier. The atmosphere is great, a large outdoor space with picnic type tables you can share with others or choose a single table. People from different tables talk and get to know each other. I'd recommend this place to everyone who loves music.
Camping up the road and drove by and told my wife, "I bet the food is good there". I should have listened to my gut day one, it's great. Homemade soups, local meats and Mama J's unique desserts that will cure any sweet tooth. Whether you go in for lunch and chat with Mama J, listen to live music in the evenings by local artists, pop in for a cold beer and a burger instead of eating another pack of hotdogs over the campfire......... Just go, inexpensive and on the way!!!
I have been to this establishment a few times and have always been impressed for a variety of reasons all underlining its uniqueness. The location is great and well suited for the café and adjoining business, the ambience is very cool and laid back and food is excellent. The management is strong, service oriented, experienced, helpful and always smiling. The bands they get to come play are from across a wide spectrum of music ranging through all levels of experience, but you will never be disappointed and management has amazing connections in the industry to help draw from. The space is small-medium sized but seating is limited so reserve ahead if you can. Ensure you have a Designated Driver if you plan to drink, or plan to take a cab, as there is only one long road in or out of the area.
We stopped in for lunch on a cool but sunny September Sunday afternoon. We sat outside and they had someone performing old songs. Food and beer was delicious. Atmosphere was casual but comfortable. Service good. Really nice way to spend some time on a relaxed Sunday afternoon.
