The staff was super friendly and helpful. I asked for some advice on the local hike (Wild Pacific) and got great, clear instructions, complete with a map. I would definitely recommend this friendly little store.
Two nights running we arrived here after 9 - when it officially closes - and found the proprietor more than willing to serve us and very welcoming. The ice-cream is tasty and the home made waffle cones are nice. I'd say that the $4 is well worth it - around the price you'd pay at any resort. The shop also does drinks and breakfast food too. A nice little place to stop and watch the world go by while eating and ice-cream.
This is a small place that offers about 10 varieties of Island Farms Ice Cream. But it is expensive - almost $4 for a little scoop of ice cream in a plastic, small, muffin-sized bowl.
Nothing special at this ice cream shop, other than a long line for over-priced, generic ice cream. I wouldn't go back. Stick with the Grey Whale, which never had a line-up and the service was a lot friendlier.
Amazing crepes ($9.75) filled with everything you want, folded in 3 to make a triangle, so you can eat it like a sandwich, extremely yummy. Good scrambled eggs, too, + toast & jam. All kinds of excellent coffees. They're really an ice cream place, & just started serving breakfast 2 days before we first ate there. Only about 5 stools at the counter, 1 small table w/2 chairs outside, and 2 benches outside = not enough sit-down space at times. Wonderful lady-cook-owner will make you anything you want, if possible.
