12 - Ulan-Ude

For Ulan-Ude, this is quite a nice establishment with an interesting concept and a fantastic panoramic view.

Time has passed. The quality has dropped to the level of a local pub, if anyone remembers that. We came to celebrate a small work event. The staff seems to have some old training out of habit, but the quality just isn't there anymore. The waiters are smiling and trying hard, but the charm of the past is gone! They brought our dishes with sauces in little cups, which reminded me of 1989. It feels like the standards from the Soviet era still exist, but no one wants to follow them anymore. Overall, the evening wasn't ruined, and that's commendable, but when you go to listen to a brass band and instead get Europe Plus playing on a cassette tape, it just isn't the same! It's quite disappointing...

Great place to see the depth of the city. The restaurant turns around so that you always get a new view. A wide selection of local Buryat cuisines and a decent offer of cocktails. Come and watch the sunset here and it will add an unforgettable marker to your visit to Ulan Ude.
